Mail Bag

   Two new recent acquisitions this month.

The first is Black Pulp from Pro Se Productions.  It was knowing it had a new Charles Saunders story that made me hit the old one-click button on Amazon.  It's pretty fun so far.  Saunders' "Mtimu" is a great retort to Tarzan.   There's a story by Joe Lansdale but I don't know any other of the authors.  With a cover like that though, who cares?

   The other thing I just ordered is a bit of an anomaly for me these days: an e-book for over $ 2.99.  Only after reading a positive review on Black Gate, I broke down an bought Joe Hill's new one, NOS4A2.  I've read and enjoyed some of his short stories but his novels never enticed me.  This one did but at seven hundred pages and over twelve bucks I was hesistant.  I bit the bullet and bought a few minutes ago.  Here's hoping it's decent.

In the Mail

   Waiting on "Imaro: The Naama War" from lulu.com (it's what prompted me to write the previous post).  They e-mailed that it printed and shipped and that's got me as about excited about the prospect of a new book in the mail can get me.  I still can't believe I'm only ordering it now instead of when it first came out.
   I also just downloaded "Griots", ed. by Charles Saunders and Milton Davis, and Tim Power's "Hide Me Among the Graves" just arrived via USPS.  Good  reading ahead.

Coming Soon To My Mailbox

   Just placed an Amazon order for all sorts of household stuff and whatnot.  Part of the whatnot are several books; Sojan by Michael Moorcock, Battle in the Dawn by Manly Wade Wellman and The Tears of Ishtar by Michael Ehart.  I've never read any of the Sojan stories Moorcock wrote when he was as young as 17.  I have read a story series by Wellman and Ehart and thought they rocked.  In all three cases I pretty much can't wait to get the books in my paws.
