The best of it, though, (i.e., The Shining, Salem's Lot, Dead Zone) are tautly written (or at least edited) and worth a read.<br /><br />I've never actually finished The Stand. All my friends read it and told me the whole story, so when I got bogged down hundreds of pages in I just dropped it.
